Fabian Wagmister is a professor of audiovisual creativity and digital media at the School of Theater, Film and TV of the University of California (UCLA) where he directs the Center for Research in Engineering, Media and Performance (REMAP). In Buenos Aires he created the Center for Hypermedia Experimentation in Latin-American (cheLA). His work focuses on techno-cultural systems of collective creativity that promote local commitment and strengthen communal identity. In this context, technology and culture converge in a performative social practice of collective research and expression in public space. Fabian has adopted the bicycle and motility as central components of his creative activity. He is currently working on the development of PedaLúdico, a series of cultural activities integrating the bicycle as a tool for situationist research and creativity.
